For these two episodes, we have a case to solve concerning the crown prince, his wife consort and his old love Qu LingJun.
Ling Buyi has been tasked to solve the murder case of Qu LingJun and Chen ShaoShang is outside trying to eavesdrop. And look who we have here to catch her red-handed. Below are the three gifs that are favourite from these two episodes.
Ling Buyi walked over and poked ShaoShang’s shoulder, scaring her, because she is trying to listen to the case.
She feigned ignorance at what’s happening thus Ling Buyi said that he’s gonna go. But ShaoShang stopped him and explained a huge chunk of reasoning why she ought to help with the investigation of Qu LingJun’s husband’s death. She admires the crown prince for having the courage to admit that he met with Qu LingJun at the suspicious hour on the day of her husband Liang’s death, instead of pretending nothing happened. Towards the end, she asked if she can join Ling Buyi for the investigation at Liang Residence and initially he declined but he gave in shortly after.
Ling Buyi asked that Cheng ShaoShang do not give any trouble during the investigation. She asked when did she ever give trouble and Ling Buyi was like when did you not? So for this matter, she promised not to give him any trouble. Lol!
At the investigation, Cheng ShaoShang is smart. She deduced that if there is no one entering the room to kill Liang and Liang was killed right in the room with a knife, then how does that someone enter the room and when did he enter? She started counting the steps she took to walk the length of the room outside and then she walked the length of the room inside and a few steps are missing! Therefore she started touching a side of the wall, knocking to see if there is a hidden chamber or something and indeed, she found it. At the same time, the murderer was in the chamber and he grabbed her in and held her hostage.
The next scene, Ling Buyi was going crazy at the disappearance of ShaoShang and how could a person just disappear in thin air. He knew that she won’t go anywhere without informing her thus he ordered his men to hack down the room/house!
And true enough, that forced the murderer to come out with ShaoShang.
The murderer is Liang’s older brother who holds a grudge over how his younger brother was favored.
Ling Buyi easily took him down with a flying dagger at the first chance he got when murderer Liang loosened his grip.
And then we have our lovely couple showing off their love in front of everyone. (At times, I shuddered at the overly PDA.)
