Rock Rock Rock is a docu-drama about the life of Kim Tae-Won, a genius guitarist who is crazy about rock music and lead guitarist of the legendary rock band Boohwal or “Resurrection”. Yep, that about sums it all up. Noh Min-Woo is said to have done a great job with acting out Kim Tae-Won in this show and I have to see it for myself.
The story goes from a budding young guitarist from the school days challenging others to english rock music, to when he comes up with his first written song “Story of You and the Rain”, to when turning drug-addictive and ending up in jail over the failure of an album, to when going crazy over rock music for three years and having spent time in an institution, and then becoming family about it with the song, “The Never Ending Story”.
The whole meaning to Story of You and the Rain, his first written song was about his story with his first love, and the story was played out through his drinking sessions with his future wife. When he broke up with his first love, it was under the rain and he staring after a bus. So when he was trying to get out of his depression or song writing dry spell, he took a bus ride to the place where they had broken up, and on the way there, he thought he saw ‘her’, but it seems it was mistake. And when he arrived at the place, he started writing out songs. He was gone for almost a week before his future wife found him. She sure had alot of love for him. At the end of the show, he won an award for Never Ending Story, and this song was about his wife and two kids, especially the wife who had stood by him in hard times, good times. I know the wife did all that, by gut feel, but it was kinda down played or not the main focus of the show.

You’re right, it wasn’t the main focus of the drama. The aim of the drama is to tell the life story of Kim Tae-Won, whose recently become more known as entertainer than as a guitarist.
One of the most important scene was when he left home for one week to write the song “The More I Love You” – sung by Kim Jegi, the vocalist who passed away after recording the song only one time. The song, which ended up released in Boohwal’s 3rd album was sold over 1 million copies and put Boohwal back on the music chart.
