Always (2011)

Starring So Ji-sub and Han Hyo-joo, Always just recently came onto Netflix, so I watched it this past weekend.

So Ji-sub is an ex-boxer, working odd jobs to make ends meet. In one of the odd jobs, he manned a carpark and that’s where he met Han Hyo-joo, a blind woman who worked at the nearby building. Unknown that the Haraboji quitted his job already and that So took over, Han barged into the carpark booth, hoping to watch TV with Haraboji. In any case, So invited her to stay and both of them started watching TV together. And that’s how their romance started.

They tried to go on a date to get to know each other but she probed too much into his life. After that, they avoided each other until one evening when he wanted to gift her a little hairband. It so happened it’s the same evening when her boss was waiting for her at her door-step. Her boss would have assaulted her for not of the timely arrival of So to save her.

Another huge coincidence was the accident that got her blind, it was actually in some relation to So’s father’s attempted suicide. It is too much of a coincidence, IMO.

Anyhow, I’ve known this show for a while and finally got to watch it in full. It’s good for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Han Hyo-joo is really beautiful, and she hasn’t been in any dramas/movies recently.
