100422 Yen-j: Thanks Your Greatness (Debut Album)

Singer, songwriter, composer, producer, arranger, instrument player, dreamer, doer… all of these labels apply to Yen-j, an all-round musician who has just embarked on his road to prominence. It all started when the boy wonder learned to play the piano at the age of 10, and from then on he was determined to devote his future to jazz music, which inspired him to name himself “Yen-j”.

In summer 2008, the 20-year-old, Los Angeles-born Yen-j sent his demo tape to record labels in Taiwan. It caught the eyes, or shall we say ears, of B’in Music executives, thus began his adventure in Mando-pop. Yen-j was commissioned to produce the score for SETTV’s top-rated idol dramas My Queen and Autumn’s Concerto. (The song “I like” in PS Man that was sang by Xia He-jie at Amanda’s birthday party was also composed by Yen-j.)

Now Yen-j is ready to display his versatility in his debut album consisting of 11 self-written songs that blend together rock, jazz, hip-hop, folk, and other popular musical elements. The album’s main plugs include “Love is Curry” and the titular track “Thanks Your Greatness”. (The titular track is the ending song of That Love Comes.)
