And so I’ve just started two episodes of My Journey To You <云之羽> starring Yu ShuXin and Zhang LingHe as the main OTP, Cheng Lei 丞磊 and Lu YuXiao 卢昱晓 as the secondary OTP, after hearing some good reviews. There are many good plot points just within the first two episodes of the drama and the interaction between the two OTPs hasn’t even started thus that goes to show how interesting the plot is.
Yun WeiShan (starring Yu ShuXin) is an assassin spy sent by Wu Feng (a sect/clan) to infiltrate the Gong Clan as a bride candidate. The guy sending her told her to be careful of everyone she meets in Gong Clan and under all circumstances, she must insist she is Yun WeiShan, the identity she is assuming in order to get into the Gong Clan.
Gong ZiYu (starring Zhang LingHe) is from the Gong Clan, the 4th son, the playful and rebellious one, he has a soft heart for the bride candidates when he heard that his father wanted to poison all of them because there might be an assassin among them. So he wanted to save them and en-route to the secret way out, he caught Yun WeiShan trying to escape and that’s how our OTP sow the seed of attraction.
Gong ShangJiao (starring Cheng Lei) also from the Gong Clan, the 2nd son, calm and a good strategist. He takes care of the Gong Clan livelihood and also managing the external relations with the outside world. Gong Clan keeps to themselves in a way.
Shangguan Qian (starring Lu YuXiao) also an assassin spy, mysterious and charming, was sent to Wu Feng from young to be trained. She was also sent to Gong Clan as a bride candidate, her aim is to get close to Gong ShangJian though. In the first two episodes, there is no interaction between the secondary OTP yet, but I hear it’s explosive.
Therefore, I’ll likely watch a few more episodes to get a sense of it myself.
Streaming since 2nd Sep on iQIYI, with 24 eps only. I like a short drama without plot dragging.
